For those of you who know about the Southbound 163 freeway people drive fast, over 75 mph in San Diego, California. Today I fell victim to a California Highway Patrol who decided to single my car out over a red Ferrari F355 F1 Spyder who was doing 90 mph just to pull over an '84 944 with stickers all over it.
He had said i was doing 85 mph. When I asked him why he didn't stop the Ferrari that sped up (and believe me you can hear when a 355 speeds up cuz that sucker screams) he avoided my question and just continued to write the ticket. Prior to this I explain my reason for being on this freeway that i usually never ever take home from the Porsche dealer in Miramar, California. My father called me on my cell telling me to stop off at the Jaguar Dealer just off of Kearny Villa Rd. near the 163, I got lost on the way over so I called him up and told him I can't find it and I'm coming home. As i hopped onto the onramp i had to accelerate to get out of the slow traffic lane and merge over in a faster lane when a Chip flashes his lights on me. Just then the Ferrari 355 comes screaming after me, I look down and see I'm doin 80, this guy musta been doin anywhere from 90-95 mph!!!
Anyways, I bet this is a useless way to express my anger and frustration, but right now I feel like I'm pinned down for everything by my family, and I come home from work after hearing my father on the phone and my mother yelling that I'm restricted...I'm almost 20 years old, I know what happens when a person gets a ticket, and I know what to do considering I'm eligible to goto traffic school to wipe it off my record....
If I bored you I'm done....
In morale, those of you who appear to look like a racer with multiple decals or graphics on your car, prepare for a barrage of police officers looking to single you out cuz you look like a "rice-rocket" or an illegal street/track car.

You live in California, though it doesn't say it on the ticket, you have the right to have a written trial. This is where you file a plee of not guilt, they write your account of the events and send them to the judge that is overseeing your trial.
A full 1/3 of the time the officer will not send his account of the incident in. That means that you are not conviced. Then there is always the chance you will get off even if he does send in his account.
Do a google search for the procedure.

I would've given you a ricecop.com Rice Ticket.

Check out SpeedTrap.Org as they have some good info regarding how to fight speeding tickets. Look through the speed trap listings for california and you will come across some great information regarding the procedures that must be taken for the speeding ticket to be valid.
Others on this board have also said that you should always fight the ticket no matter whether it was legit or not as you may either get out of it or have the fine reduced. Quite often it seems like the tickets are written up for a larger infraction than actually occurred.

Being 20, driving a Porsche, and mentioning the Jag dealer part probably didn't draw much sympathy from a $25000 a year cop either.
