Default Trying to decide, anyone put a widebody kit on their 944? Pics?

Looking at a widebody kit but I can't tell from the website photos if I'm going to like it or not, I'm waffling between the widebody and just a pair of side skirts added to the orginal body. Anyone put a wide kit on the 944NA? Have pics to share? Help me decide, this is my first 944 and I don't want to screw it up going overboard.

a 944 is already a wide body 924. unless your making massive power there is no point.

I'm a little worried about the size of the tires I'd have to run also if i went wider.

If you're worried about that then widebody is definitely not for you...

Like i said before, it is very involved and very expensive if you don't do it yourself and you want the car to be presentable for the street.

If it's a late offset car with 2in widebody fenders, I would think any stock early offset wheels & tires would fit.

you can fit 275 on a standard 944. It takes some work and the perfect offset, but they fit.

Wide body street car look rather silly. Widebody race cars are different, but they really need to be fast enough to make the wide body worth it.

Exactly. The 944 standard body has lots of room for wider wheels/tires. If you want it to LOOK wider, then drop the ride height and get wider rubber.

I agree with M758, I have seen an S2 Widebody. It looked great from a distance but up close it just didn't look right. I don't think you would be happy with the results. The S2 btw was done properly not just a hack job.

A wide body on a 944 NA car does not look or perform all that well. 944 NA only has about 143 HP and with a lot wide body, it sure will be a lot slower with all that wind drag. Lowering the car and adding larger tires eg. 225 front and 245 rear will really fill everything in and look pretty damn good. Wide body on a 951 is a different story.

My 2 cents worth....................................

Thanks for the input everybody! I think I'll save my self the $$ and just add the side skirts I have found and skip the wide body mods. Thanks again!

if you want, get fiberglass fenders for the front, not wide though, save you some weight

If the car's not fast, you don't need it.

That's cool.

There is a wide body 924 Carerra GT (I think) with a cage near me I see occasionally. That is cool too.
