Default Anyone use 6mm or 1/4" wheel spacers on a track car?

Just wondering if the use of wheel spacers (the shim type without studs attached) has caused any problems on a car that has a lot of track use. Obviously there is less thread on the studs for the nut to grab when using a spacer. I guess if using spacers it would also be better to use steel wheel nuts? Anyone had any failures?

Yes, but I put longer studs on the car. No issues. With 6mm spacers the hub is still able to engage the center of the wheel so if the studs are long enough you're fine. Anything fatter needs to be machined to be hub-centric (which good spacers are). With one set of wheels I run 15mm spacers in the rear.
Cheers

Yes, on the rear only with longer studs and steel lug nuts.

For the track you should be using the steel wheel nuts anyway.
