Are those 28mm bars available? What did you change your front springs to when you upgraded to the 30mm t-bars?

M578, thanks there is definitely more surface area to distribute the load on the flange area with the aluminum arms. I do push my car really hard at DEs with kuhmos in 225/17 size, but only for about 25 min. at a time, but dfinitely at race pace, ie., there isn't a whole lot left in the car when I'm driving it. the outside arm on the later cars definitely puts a large sideload on the caster mount, I'm not familiar with the earlier cars, and should have read youyr sig. to see what you are racing

I had 350 lbs/in coilovers in front with 28 mm t-bars and weltmeister sway bars. The reason installed the coilovers in front was to lower ride height and get more negative camber. I picked 350#. (I had been running 250 lbs front and 28mm rear bars). I also added new shocks with this mod so the car worked really nice, but I had to go "FULL Stiff" on the rear weltmeister sway bar. It balanced things, but not really the right way. After it started to race the thing for while I realized that this was not the ideal set-up and really needed to go with 30 mm t-bars. I have done this and the car as little oversteer now with softer rear sway bar setting this giving me a little better corner exit traction which is all importnat if you don't have a limited slip.

About the 28 mm unit. I still have it an plan on installing it in my father's 86 944 Turbo DE car. I already installed the old 250 lb springs from my race car. Now I just need to convince him that he needs the 28mm t-bars.

If you are really worried just inspect them. You can do this just by looking at them and by grabbing the brake caliper and moving it side to side (into the fender and out) if there is any play then the bushings are shot. If they look good and everthing appears tight keep on running.

That's where I screwed up. I use 250lb springs on Koni adjustables up front. I upgraded the rear to 25.5mm t-bars and upgraded the rear sway bar from 14mm to 18mm. I also lowered the car ~1". On the track (DE) it pushes badly through the corners, forcing me to get rather creative with throttle steering. Oh sure I could slow down, but I'm just learning how to go faster! :-)

So I'll be on the lookout for larger t-bars at Hershey this year. I should just bite the bullet and go to 30mm bars t-bars and 350lb springs up front.

I too have the 30mm bars in rear, 400# springs up front, and I too have to run the rear bar at full stiff (I use the Cup Car bar). I'm going to dial back the front bar a bit, from 23mm to 22mm (have that sitting around waiting to go in), get a little bit more front grip back. It's very close, but not perfect, for me.
