I would like for my clutch to engage sooner as I let out on it. Is there any adjustments one can do to a 944 clutch?
Also Is there a light in the clock on a 944. My clock works fine but at night I can't see it.
Thanks

The clutch is hydraulic, so there is no manual adjustment. There is adjustment for the free play in the clutch pedal. As the clutch wears the pedal will release higher up.
As for the clock, there is a bulb in there on the early dashes (83-85.5). I can't speak for the late style dash.

Your first step should be to check the clutch disc for wear.
TIP-Stick a deep well socket that fits snug and measure the socket.

The clutch on our cars as a pretty long throw. A good thing to get used to though is that as you said, it disengages/engages high. I believe the reason for this is so you dont have to go all the way to the floor with it, just slightly press it and let it up = faster shifting. a little more tricky then just having a short low pedal but it works.
