Default How do you tighten the rear view mirror?

My rear view mirror stays on but is loose. Is there a way to tighten it? It's a '83 N/A 944

Just wiggle your head, after a while you won't notice the mirror is loose...

Honestly, I don't think it can be fixed short of RTV or something along those lines..I replaced mine when it loosened up...

bummer. when I bought the car, only the mount was there but no mirror. I bought a mirror off of a parts car and it fits but it's loose. did you replace it with a new part?

Got lucky with a recycle off a parted car... I still have the wiggly one for memories sake though... maybe you could try some bowlers chalk, or some bow resin from a music shop...

Take the mirror off, *GENTLY* push the two little tabs (on the mount) in a tiny bit with a flathead screwdriver, put mirror back on. It'll take you two minutes.

That would work for the entire mirror being loose, in my case it was the mirror to the mounting stalk that was loose... the mounting arm didn't move at all, but the mirror body itself was wobbling around like an epileptic having a seizure...
