Talking Very nice (real) 924 Carrera GT !

I like this car a lot. At first I thought the color scheme was ugg, but now it's kinda grown on me.

Here's the ad copy:

"Black and red over black cloth with only 33,000 miles. One of 406 ever produced by Porsche, this stunning collectors car has been owned by the same person since being imported and fully federalized in 1984. The 924 Carrera GT is powered by a 2 liter, 4 cylinder, turbo charged and intercooled engine which produces 210 bhp. at 1 bar of boost. Capable of a top speed of 150 mph and 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds, all of them were pre-sold to their lucky European owners before they were built. They were the true road car precursor of the 924 GTS and GTR's that were campaigned along with the Carrera GT's, at Leman in 1981. You may learn more about these fantastic European street cars by going to www.porscheclassic.at/technik/typen/924-gt.htm. This rare car carries unique and distinguishing paint, and is as perfect as they come. Used sparingly since importation, it is fully serviced and is available with a large assortment of spares. Everything works and it comes with all records and documentation. One of an estimated 7 existing in the United States, it is being offered for the first time at $29,700. "

Anyone got $30K laying about that I can borrow?

Gee, I would think the paint would devalue it a bit, being non-original (not to mention gaudy)...

I know of one going for less than that up here...

A little bit more info on all the 924 models...

would say the same as Vaughan, the color scheme would make it 'less' worth. But a hella nice car!! the scheme wouldnt matter to me, but to very serious collectors it would.. rather nice to me

I figured that Ian would like it, since he likes the 924 Carrera GT, and also likes black and red cars. He could have the best of all worlds with this one......

The seller is in the greater Boston area. If anyone is interested in buying, I'd be happy to take it for a test spin on your behalf.

The paint is bad but that's nothing compared to that *&#$@+%*! reflector thing between the tailights! Look at the plate location... it looks like it's mounted to the bottom of the spare tire well on the underbody!

I think that car looks TOTALLY AWESOME. If anybody ever sees that euro front bumper for sale, let me know, My 924 really needs driving lights. I also think it would be really cool to hear that motor. Half the reason i keep my 924 is the way it sounds. Most people think the 924 has too much noise, engine, road feedback etc. but I like that raw feel and I bet this car is just amazing.
