Default Wiper linkage trouble (driver's side)

I didn't do a search. I'm being bad.

Anyway - the driver's side wiper stopped working when I really needed it to work (while it was raining, oddly). After a little investigation, I found the linkage had popped off the ball on the driver's side wiper pivot. My first thought is that the plastic socket that grips the ball must be worn and maybe it can be replaced with a new piece.

Anyone else have experience with this and have a recommended repair?

We're about to enter the rainy season here in tropical Michigan. I need to fix this.

Any previous experience or suggestions are welcome.

my father has the same problem with his 968. if I can avoid swapping in my spare complete wiper linkage, that would be great!!

Yes - I have definitely considered that as an interim fix.

After taking a serious look at the part, today, I realize it is the smaller link (less than one foot in length). A new part (from Pelican, etc) is likely to be about $10.

The cost of shipping will double the cost. Oh well.

i had the same problem, could never find it listed here on pelican ended up ordering it from another company. still havent got it in yet, been over a month. they had to order it themselfs. its a 20 part from porsche but shipping from germany is another 20. you cant just get the little black piece you have to get the whole arm.
