Question Are TRW valves good?

I am new to this board, but have owned a 1991 944 S2 for over 2 years now. Recently the timing belt went. Now I need to rebuild most of the top end of my engine. ( I know, I'm an idiot)

My question is are the TWR valves as good as original equipment?

Most of the people posing here seem very well versed on many topics. I would appreciate the help. Thanks

Tom Walkenshaw has a reasonably good reputation for this kind of thing, but I don't know about these valves specifically.

I also am curious on these valves. I have a choice of $180 "Porsche" valves or these $55 TRW valves. Is it worth it to go "dealership" with this item or go with TRW????

Is there any huge difference?

Sounds like a case of dyslexia!!!

Tom Walkinshaw (racing) is TWR!!!

TRW is a massive company & may have been the oem supplier of valves.

I used TRW valves when my cam bolt came loose... <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />

It always catches me off guard too, but:

TWR = Tom Walkinshaw Racing
TRW = ?? <a href="http://www.trw.com" target="_blank">www.trw.com</a>

Different companies.

Has anyone who has used them ever have any problems???

After looking at their website - I see they are not a "small business" - so I guess they produce pretty good quality stuff, no?

Sorry guys, it is TRW. I orginally wrote TWR.
I have been told they are the OEM. I'm trying to find out for sure.

The valves list for $55 but may companies sell them for $30. (example: ThePartsBin.com)

F the dealership if they are the same thing.

I know if you order them directly from Porsche It's about $90 a valve. Anything above that is dealer mark up (they told me $170)
