Default Thread diameters/pitch on AC components?

Does anyone know or know here to find the thread sizes for the condensor, compressor, evaporator, etc? I'm thinking of making up some new AC hoses but want to be sure I get the right fittings...

I think he's after the refrigeration hose fitting pitches. I've never seen this info, not definitively, but there is surely a DIN standard. A good industrial or automotive hose shop should have the info handy. From what I've seen, Porsche/VW/Audi/Volvo all used the same fittings, they just never say what they are.

If anyone is interested, I figured out the fitting sizes on the AC components. A little work with a thread pitch gauge revealed that they matched perfectly to US threads. The 3 different sizes used are 3/8, 1/2 and 5/8 flare. These equate to SAE 9/16-18, 3/4-16 and 7/8-14. I proved it by going down to HD and buying female flare fittings of 3/8, 1/2 and 5/8 and sure enough they thread right on. Does it seem a little bizarre that a German car with Japanese AC components uses US spec fittings? This is an early 85 so you guys with later cars may have a different story.

Good info, Mike! Are you thinking of re-routing the A/C lines and making the low side port in the line, rather than at the pump?
