All of a sudden there are brand new distributor caps on eBay for as low as $6 ?? Anyone bought one? Are they any good? I'm "guessing" they are chinese?

I bought one. Cosmetic fit and finish is definitely not good. On mine, there was also slight damage inside (search for my recent post "is this distributor cap broken?").

However: the ebay seller promised to send me a free replacement (should have it by end of week). So all in all I am happy - I view this as a part that at the price I can replace every year or two...

Redux:

I received a full refund from the ebay seller for my distributor cap. They did not want me to send it back, so I figured I would install it for the time being until I get a better quality one that is not damaged.

Well, turns out the cap does not fit! The two 90-degree-bend screws that secure the cap to the cam tower are approx. 3/4" too long. I ended up cutting them off to the right size and re-bending them. It's not pretty, but it works...

Summary: good ebay seller, bad product.

 

I noticed in the auction picture that the clamps were unusually long. I take it the screw head doesn't even make it down into the cap?
