Post Where is the DME Relay?

Is this relay in the engine fuse/relay compartment or on the DME itself. I have noticed some recent clicking sounds coming from my DME (at least it sounds like it is coming from under the passenger footwell).

It usually sounds like 7-10 consecutive clicks, and then stops.

What else would this be?

DME relay is in the fuse/relay panel under the hood (left rear of engine compartment). The underside of the box cover is labelled to identify it.

Could your clicking noise be coming from the passenger's side of the console, under the dash?

Jim, can't type well with a band-aid on my right index finger...oh, wait, I couldn't type well without it, either!

Yeah it's coming from that general area, don't know if its the DME, or something under the dash/ glove box. What else clicks over there???

These clicks are fairly loud (louder than the AC relay clicking on/off that I hear coming from the fuse/relay area), since its originating inside the car.

There are a couple of solenoid valves under there (right side of console, under the dash) that are operated by the climate control brain to control the vacuum to the heater valve & (IIRC) one of the flaps on the climate control mixing box. You're probably hearing one of them cycling.

Look for two similar objects, each with one wire & two small vacuum lines, mounted with one screw each. Try loosening & re-tightening the screw (ground path).

Jim, TGIF!
