Can someone run a carfax on this turbo?
I'm planning on giving my sister my 924, and buying a turbo. The turbo is a 86' 944 Turbo with 121173 miles. It's a 5 speed manual, black interior, red body, very hot looking. The dealer is asking $5995, and right off the bat i know their's got to be something wrong. The body of the car is very clean. I'm going to get someone from the board to check it out, but what do you guys think? Would the good out weigh the bad? I'm going to talk to them tommorow, and see what type of maintence it had. Also, can someone run a check on the VIN for me.

Amaf,
I e-mail'd the CarFax report to you. It appears that the odometer has been rolled back ~20K miles (hard to tell), but other than that CarFax didn't throw up any other red flags. For that price, I'd not worry about the mileage if your going to keep it. Hope this helps!

Ya, true.. the mileage isnt bad, but I want to make sure everything checks. I want to see how good of care they kept the car in first.
Next, what problems should I look for?

I think your biggest problem will be having a car with too much power. No offense, amaf... but didn't you write angry comments about "getting pulled over too much?" on one of the other boards?
If you were having problems mechanically AND problems driving responsibly in your auto 924S, then the 951 is going to be an even greater problem for you IMHO.
I've often thought of trying to get a 951, and I just might this year... but even I'm not going to pretend that I'm going to have to seriously re-think my entire attitude about mait., insurance, and more importantly, safe driving.

MJ, thanks for the info, but driving a 951 isnt going to change anything at all. When I'm in my car, I'm prob. the most careful driver. I've never come near to getting into a accident, and I never will.

i still hate the cops. to me, they are the same as the criminals they arrest. in any case, in my city a person has to be really asking to get pulled over for this to happen. in other cities they do it seemingly "randomly", too bad i went outside city limits...

Amaf, you are what 18? not to afend but you have maybe 2 years behind the wheel. and I will bet money you have never taken a driving course in your life. and I am not talking about the student driver crap you get from high school. Don't assume you are a safe driver. At 18 go take some driving courses and you will find out how little you know about how to drive. and you will also find out how much more enjoyable driving can be.

That's got to be one of the funniest, ignorant things I've ever read.
Good thing you dont live anywhere near me
6 hours behind the wheel, sounds a lot like the requirements to get a license??
