early cars with the 3 round gauges the speedo is mechanical, driven by cable from the dr side spindle.

late models with the oval dash the speedo is electronic, drive from a sensor mounted on the drivers side of the trans

its possiblle the cable came loose out of the back of the speedo check that also.

my clutch job went horribly wrong. the disc i got from clutchnet doesnt clear the flywheel bolts, the hub isn't dished/offset properly and no one in the chicago area had a disc for me to buy so my clutch job is on hold until i get a proper disc.

Which Clutchnet model did you buy? Which car is the disc for? I bought their disc for my early car and it works fine. Getting ready to order for the '86 (which should be the same). The one for NA's I bought is:
18508Y63

Would appreciate hearing what you got and why it doesn't clear!

Edit: I'm guessing it is your S2, since the other cars are gone or parted? Would be a different number.

I saw your post Ross in the why so expensive clutch thread, the pics u show are the clutch i should have got. Basically on the 61 the hub is not dished/offset like it is on the 63. I'm gonna call them and make them overnight me the right one.

I wouldn't expect any problem with them, they are good to deal with. I guess anyone can make a mistake, just a shame it messed up your plans (BTDT).
