I don't know about best suppliers on LEDs, but I laughed out loud in Newark's face on some of the headlight kit parts quotes. They were twice to three times the other's cost quotes, I'd have to see if I still have the notes on that conversation. They were pretty far out of line and 25% off wouldn't fix it.

I will be replacing mine with the new part you will be making right? I have an extra cluster from a 85.5 NA I was going to take it from, then when I do the swap on my car I can just use what I take from that to put back on the other one.

Perry - I too am interested. Ribs' comment about needing something bright inside to match the cannons outside made me do it 
One Q: If you can't replace the LEDs, what do I do in 10, 20, X+ years when the damn thing goes out? You going to still be making them?

Well, you could grind down the mold and put in a new LED or resistor. Or.. you can go back to stock.
The LED's should last longer than the rest of the car, so you are ok.

I don't think you need to worry about the LEDs burning out. The current versions, if run at design voltage, are supposed to last some crazy length of time, like a quarter million hours.
Considering the average car runs 3,000 hours to 100,000 miles and much of that is in daylight a LED burnout is the last thing you need to worry about.
Of course the current LEDs haven't existed for a quarter million hours (28 and a half years straight) so who knows where this estimate came from.

I'm in at $75 for a stock color lighting replacement for my 1983 primary dash pods.
Did you mention a difference in the early and late LED setup.
If so, anything you need to get the "early" project rolling let me know!

Count me in on the dash light deal. I would be very interested to see it in blue, red and white. I am just not sure which one of those 3 colors I would like. Would really love to see some pics if you can find them.

Sorry guys, no dice on the pics. We will have to wait until I make them for new ones.
I got most of my materials yesterday, so casting will begin this week. I am pretty sure I can make this work.
I have 21 of you intrested, so I am going to do my best to make 25 kits for the first run. That is a cost outlay to me of about 2 grand. A little steep, but it will be worth it.
This is going to take some time to do, so hang with me.

I have worked in recording studios for a couple of decades now. Studio control rooms can be seen as gigantic LED collections, and it's common to keep the gear on 24/7. I have NEVER seen one fail.

I hear ya.. I work in Talk Radio. My studio is live 24/7, and I can count on one hand how many LED's are out. There are hundreds, if not thousands in here, and some go back 6 or 7 years.
I don't see them going out anytime soon.
