Question Flywheel and Speed Sensor Plugs

Where can I get the metal clips that hold the plugs in place? Is there any inexpensive plug that uses the same one? Anyone know of an easy fix to keep them securely in place?

What metal clips are you reffering to?? The sensors you mention are held to the engine block with a cast aluminum housing...one of the sensors has a factory "washer" thats shaped to circle the sensor and the 10mm hex head bolt that holds it to the housing, the other is non spaced.

the only other metal clip that holds the sensors is a meatl clip attatched to the back of the intake manifold...is this the one your asking about?

If it is, then check your local dismantler, they have it for about .10 cents :-)

Take Care!

I'm talking about the ones that go around the plug itself, sort of like the one on fuel injector plugs, shaped like a "squared" C around the plug.

Here is a picture of the bracket I think you are referring to. I called a junk yard in Chicago and they sent me one for a couple of bucks along with several other "little" items that I wanted to replace. I think the reason why my sensor plugs started to fall apart was heat related, there was nothing to keep them away from the engine.

It is definitely there, but it's not the bracket that holds the two plugs and holds them behind the manifold. It's the plastic plug, opposite end of the sensors. It's plastic with a metal clip around it, the afm plug also has the same metal clip around it as do a couple of other plugs.

The round plug behind the sensor plugs is the O2 connector.

He's talking about the circlips that hold the plug ends together. (sensors to DME harness)

You can head to an AutoZone or similar shop, look in the electrical section, and find a plug about the same size. Use the clip and toss the plug. They are usually about $2.50 for the whole plug.

Other option is to buy new ones or find some off a junker.
