Post EDIT: I'm Stupid!!!! Window switches are broken!

86-944 .. if you push the power window switch up, then turn off the car and pull the key out, the window will continue up untill you take your finger off the button. Untill it is released the window switch still has power even with the key off. So... I played with it.. and if you flick it down real quick it will start going down agan, but as soon as its let up, cuts power.

Ok, this information can probably not help anyone... ever... but it was somthing I didnt know about my car that I thought was cool.

Thats it... trading in the 86 for an 87. Anyone want to trade me?

The windows/sunroof in my stepmom's '86 911 work all the time. Someone probably modded 'em to do that.

Personally, I like it!

Thats alright, my door closed switches have never worked and I think that may be the cause of my window problem.

Soon I will be on my way to rolling up my windows in more ways than I ever thought possiable! now to fix those darn door switches.

If it makes you feel any better, I found out my windows worked like that after I had the car for several years. I let an old roommate take it for a spin, and afterwards she said "hey, your windows do this too!"

Being able to roll your windows up and down after turning the key off but before you open a door is a German car thing. At least some Audis are like that too. I suspect BMW and Mercedes.
