Post Checking ATF level in an Auto trans.

I need to check my atf level in my 88 924s Automatic. The resevoir is near the back of the trans, I have cleaned the undercoating off the tank (Hey, the cap is RED!) but cant get a strong enough light to shine through the opaque plastic tank to check the fluid level.. ANY IDEAS??
