Default POGremlins and a few mysteries to clear up

loving the young PO more and more....Ive got two wires with rubber covers on the passenger side just behind the wheel..hanging and no obvious point of connection....any help identifying would be great.

two different wires near the radiator on the drivers side..

Next...and more oddly...on the drivers side...Ive found a small toggle switch.

its in the on position..it seems to run to my alternator though Ive not quite traced its end yet...the otherside runs first to a small plastic terminal block...

then from there joins a harness line towards the firewall. Ive got the front suspension motor mounts and steering pulled right now...so im not to keen on flipping the switch off and attempting to start the car...so its intended purpose is a mystery Id love some help with.

My fans have been bypassed, and an aftermarket temp sensor was patched into a heater core bypass...guess proper repair made less sense then "custom engineered maintenance solutions".

On a more positive note....my oil pan gasket was actually a breeze... and my rod bearings looked good...Im busy the next few days so I swapped the oil filter and "juiced" her up...give her a few days to show leaks and....Saturday Ill be putting the crossmember back in along with the new control arms, bushings, MANUAL steering rack, tie rods, coils and inserts....

Could be an old alarm system that was removed...it's got the reset switch and that's where the alarm siren usually gets installed near the DS radiator.

That plastic block looks like the A/C feed to the compressor; is this an early car (< 85.5)?

First picture looks like the wires for the oil pressure sender. Second picture looks like the wires running to the intake temp sensor on the underside of the intake manifold. Not sure about the toggle switch.

I agree with Karl on the first pic being the oil pressure wires. Second pic looks like the factory coolant temp wires for the temp switch in the raditor. I agree with the plastic block being forthe a/c. and no clue on the switch.

Good luck

The switch was more than likely a poor mans anti-theft system.

Pic 1- oil pressure sender
Pic 2- Radiator temp sensor or fan wires...or one each!
Pic 3 - My bet is that it's the bypass you were mentioning....maybe hooked into the fans.

1 - oil pressure sender
2 - not sure, but if I were to venture a guess, I'd say radiator temp sensor
3 - I'm betting that comes from the alternator and goes the AC compressor to turn on the AC. He either had a bad AC switch on the HVAC controls, or the pressure switch was preventing the compressor from turning on and this was his "fix".
