Default Oil Pump/Crank Pulley Fitment

I just rebuilt the engine and now it's time for belts and to put all the pulleys back on. When I put the timing gear and crank pulley back on, balance belt gear on the crank pulley doesn't go on fully on to the crank. There isn't quite enough room for the balance gear to get onto the woodruf key. So, I'm guessing the oil pump gear isn't in far enough (maybe because it's not quite aligned with the oil pump teeth). When the oil pump gear is in its proper place, is the end of it flush with the main oil pump seal or does it stick out a centimeter?

Edit: Got it. Oil pump gear wasn't fully in there. Btw, spark plug pullers work great to move the gear around.
