Post Ball Joint

Need help from someone that has access to auto parts. I need to know what ball joints are out there that have a 17 mm shaft. I am going to make some custom A-arms so I am open to how they mount.
So if anybody knows what all out there (any make or domestic) that has ball joints with a 17 mm shaft please let me know. Would prefer one with a notch in the side instead of a groove all the way around.
Thanks

I can't answer your question, but I am VERY interested in your project. I have discussed doing something like this with my father at length, but never really started anything. Anyway, let me know how I can help.

Doug,

Is the replacable ball joint for earlier 944's with steel control arms 17 mm?

I thought I had heard that one of the current rebuilders uses a unit off a Volvo.

Lastly, Markus Blaszak sells arms for racing with removable ball joints. I wonder what he uses?

What I did is went with a set of 84 steel arms.. and beefed them up a little .. then drilled the mounting hole for the sway bar holders.
