That looks like a good candidate for a place
like <a href="http://www.chipsaway.com" target="_blank">www.chipsaway.com</a> or someone else who
does airbrush spot repairs.
I'd get an estimate then discuss him sharing the
cost with you in whatever proportion you feel
appropriate.

I looked into the chips away, the closest one is over an hour from me, so I think I can find a place closer.
Does anyone know any other airbrush type places?

Tim- I think i'm gonna save the *** kicking for anyone who does real damage to my car, then, its on!

Well, I took it to a local body shop, carstar franchise, and they told me $279! I think that is WAY too much, looks like I might be doing it myself after all!

Thanks again,

Conor

Unfortunately any repair job you attemp will not look good unless you repaint that entire door. Red paint fades over time and the paint you will attempted to patch that with will be much brighter then the rest of the car. Make him pay for the entire panel repainting, you will also have to blend the next panel in aswell so it doesn't look off.

At my local Dupont store they have a gun that they come out to your car to match the color. They search through all available paint colors from all manufacturers and find the best match to what your paint has weathered to. I wouldn't try to brush it on but it should be pretty easy to spray it on. See if the Dupont store can sell you the paint in a spray paint can or if you have an air compressor you can buy a paint sprayer for around fity dollars. Dupont matched some paint for the Jag and the color looks like it matches well. I am just waiting for a good day to wet sand it to even out the texture.
