Yep. In the garage next to its big brother. There was some hesitation in the engine in the upper RPMs, so I pulled the head and cleaned the carbon from the valves. I'm shooting the heat shields with a fresh coat of paint to clean it up. I was planning on getting it buttoned back up tomorrow. Maybe I'll do a little photo shoot to show the starting condition.

BTW, yes, I'm aware that I'm pleading for the originality of an 80's movie promo item. I don't want to hear it, Sam! And for the record, if you don't own this movie, you're not a true P-Car fan. It's nice to see D.B. Sweeney in a film where he isn't getting the **** kicked out of him by aliens.

Have a little faith, Micah! I respect originality and always modify with the option of returning things to stock in the future. I already decided if I'm going to have a decal company make the BOSS-themed wrap for the kart, I may as well have them re-produce the original decal graphics as well. That way, it can be taken back to it's original promotional glory and all the Sweeney fans can sleep well.

The decals are not mint, and the fiberglass body could use a little attention in a couple areas, so I see it as a miniature restoration project. It will be tastefully done. I won't let you down.

There was another kart posted in the Boston Craigslist, but it didn't have the same "No Man's Land" graphics. It would be awesome if someone here picked it up. We could put them on the track together at the fest.

I finally got around to snapping a few pics of the kart tonight. As you can see, it is not in bad condition, but not mint. I'm going to get the frame, wheels/tires and engine in top shape first, then work on getting the body where it needs to be.

The engine is a 5hp B&S, and it's pretty fast, but it can be faster. I'm looking at replacing it with something with a bit more kick and an electric start to make it easier to get in and drive. It's a tight fit, so being able to hop in and turn a ket to start it would be convenient.

I didn't see the car in the preview for the movie - is the cart modeled after a car in the movie or did they just buy some porsches (the cheapest ones available) to make look cool for promotional stuff?

Ya know, we have these 10k generators that have these turbos that are about the size of your fist. Would be perfect on that thing! I thought I had a picture, but I don't. I'll have to snag one at work this week.

What kind of motor does it have? We had a guy that would come out to our PCA autocrosses with a home made cart and win everytime. That could be a serious autoX machine - really.

Just found another one on eBay. Looks to be in good shape, but the price seems a little high.

Default New Wheels for the New Little Brother

Had to pick up a second car for the second addition...

It's a small car, but it'll still be a while before he can reach the pedals.
