Default Installed clear rear tail lights with pics

Had these assemblies sitting in the garage for way too long. Finally pulled out the old lenses, cleaned out all the black goo and installed the new ones. I had purchased the clear turn signal reflectors a while back and then cut out the orange ones on a spare set of tail lights and glued them in....

How did you cut the lens out? I tried like hell and had no luck? Looks nice, but I would tint that lens red or even the reverse too. On my black car I like the look of red blinker even though my reverse is still clear..

Thanks! Was just telling another 944 guy yesterday how badly I wanted to check your car out! You going to be in the ATL anytime soon?

very nice. Perhaps one day a 1piece tail light will be produced. That would look great.

I think CPR should develop a two piece lense! A top lense and a bottom Lense. That would modernize the tails pretty well.

Looks good Josh! What did you use to get the black goo off the paint?

Hmm - I just drilled a hole in them and then used pliers to break out as much as possible. Then I carefully used sharp chisels and razor blades to clean out the glue and so on along the edges.

Used a plastic putty knife as it was dried out a good bit. Then used a lighter fluid type product to get the rest off. After that I put a cleaner wax on everything. Probably would be a worthwhile job even if you weren't changing the assemblies - just to re-caulk and clean in general....

I got these from a guy in the UK that did a few runs of front sidemarkers in clear and the rear corner reflectors.
