That's pretty short...

NNJR 9 runs x 39 seconds = 350 secs driving time vs.

metro NY 5 runs x 79 seconds: 395 secs driving time.

I guess we didn't get screwed over so bad...

What makes you think I would have run 79s?

We were also on the road, after the awards and all, at like 3:15.

The bad news is that more runs is not always a good thing, I think it worked against Ken. In his case, he learned the course fast and was bringing in good times. His opponent had a better tires and suspension, but took 8 runs to learn the course well enough to use it. Had there only been 7 runs, Ken would have won the class. (I'd give first place to him on technical merit, anyway.)

Yeah, the more runs was fun, but not altogether good. I guess its partially my fault for not pushing hard enough earlier. But i could never have predicted the 1.5 second gain my competetion had on his 8th run. I guess i've learned the lesson to never underestimate anyone and to keep pushing no matter what.

Thanks for the vote for first Dave, now maybe you could talk to the guys running the show and get some points moved around.

Its good in the end, i guess. If i had no competition, i would have nothing pushing me through the rest of the season. Plus, now i have a good reason to spend money on my car.

Adrial, the same thing happen to me at the last Meadowlands AutoX. I came in with a time of about 40 seconds, which was about 20 seconds faster than everyone was running. The guy gave me the choice of the 40 seconds or a rerun. I got muscled into the rerun though.

Doh! Wish I could have made it, but I was kinda busy driving back from Myrtle Beach on Saturday.
Glad I had the Subaru: drove through a Tornado Warning in NC on the way down! Rain shouldn't be 'falling' sideways, right?

It would have been fun to battle with Phil again, without someone with Sticky tires messing things up! Adrial: Phil drives a white 944S, and I don't believe I've run against that blue S2 yet. But I may have to take a trip to Metro NY someday...
IMPORTANT NOTE to Adrial:PCA NNJR Lime Rock II opens this Friday, July 19th! Get your application in the mail on Friday, so you can get in! Dave: now that you've got the new clutch, maybe it's time you put your baby on the track...

Just got my confirmation for Wakins Glen DE! Woo-hoo: three days of Driver's Ed (August 16-18) at the Glen! Can't wait!!!!

Zoltan, It's ok if you aren't hardcore enough to...nevermind . Phil and I had some good runs without you, he came real close to catching me. See you at the next one.

Dave, Having a bad week, almost lost a toe yesterday and my truck just got CREAMED a couple hours ago. I'm going back to bed for the rest of the week!!!

I just dumped $500 on the car...and not even done.
Rear shocks are shot ($230), OEM motor mounts ($180), cap and rotor ($55)...+ wheel cleaner and I'm gonna add a sunshade to the list because I'm worried about the dash cracking.

Ah well...we'll see if I can scrounge up the $$ to hit up that DE.

Good move! May I also suggest using a product called: Vinylux. (It's in a blue bottle). It helps restore the agents in your dash to protect it from the sun.
I have a sunshade and a cotton towel on my dash when it's parked in the sun.
Sorry to hear about your 'maintenance / upgrade' issues. Once you're done with that stuff, you won't have to worry about it for a long, long time!
Maybe it's time to start charging your bro for using your car!

Dave: Sorry to hear of your misfortune yesterday: hope today brings better events for you.

I'll second the comment on the Vinylux, it's good stuff! The sunshade should help too, I've been putting off getting on, and as a result I have 2 little cracks that I found last week. What's worse is that my wife doesn't consider a dash crack a good reason to sell it and buy a 968 or S2

Thanks Zoltan, I'm happy to report that I made it through Tuesday without a major problem.

I've been using Vinylex for the past like 6 months I think...Apply it every 2 or 3 weeks I guess...

I just added a sunshade to my order from Paragon.

Good to hear your luck is changing dave
