OT: famous road in Cali, maybee San fran?
There is a scene in several old movies I can't name, The shot is usually from the bottom of a hill looking up at a road that zig-zags down the hill with flower beds in between the levels. I know this is a poor description, but If someone knows what I'm talking about, please post some pics, or a link so I can verify it's the place I'm thinking of. Your help is appreciated.

Thats the one! I know it's just a street, but I wanna be able to say I was there, and the golden gate too. It's like the sign in hollywood, wooptie doo, big frigin letters, but It was cool for a country bumpkin like me to look at it in person. I'd also like to drive the route from the chase scene in the movie "bullet", albeit slower... Thanks all

Supposedly it is the crookedest street in the world, but actually, it is not even the crookedest street in San Francisco. According to local scribes, Vermont street in the Potrero Hill area is just as steep, yet has more turns per foot.

Getting high centered would be a likely scenario.

The third house from the bottom, on the right as you are going down, is supposed to be haunted. A few years back (circa "Legend of Hell House"), one of the local TV stations did a whole show on the house.
Steve McQueen while filming the movie "Bullet" wanted to incorporate this street into the chase scene, but the locals raised a stink and killed that idea.
He would have repaired any bricks that he would have knocked off the walls. San Franciscan's don't have a sence of humor.

I think Lombard street is sort of the experience if you drive through it. Have done it several times.
I suppose Russian Hill's streets can be seen more often in the movies. I suppose Bullit was the movie which started it. Since Bullit is one of my favorite movies i have naturally drive throuhg all of the same streets. It was too bad i had only a rented Camaro to drive with !
BTW Steve McQueen was a tru Porshce fan. He bought a new black 356 speedster in 1959. He used to race with it quite a lot. Steve's son still owns that car.
Even in Bullit there was that yellow B model 356 which was Bullits girlfriends car (Jacqline Bisset)
Bullit DVD has some nice material how they made these drive scenes and how they practiced.
