I once had a mullet... for about a month... in the 80's.

Both George W. Bush and Vice-President Ronald McDonlad have pledged to work to end the Ford-Chevy debate in order to restore relative peace to the Mullet community. The U.S. Department of Transportation has begun circulating pamphlets in trailer parks entitled "Ford or Chevy? It doesn’t matter, they both break down faster than a Toyota."

It is not the mullet stuff I find offensive. It is the homophobia. It is also the insinuation that aggressive women are bad. As a defense attorney, I'm quite aggressive. I work on my own car (when need be! - more now than before ). I think the 80's and the fashion of the era is very funny (but not as funny as the 70's - I'll never do THAT again!). All I'm saying is: be careful who you trash. And no - I don't wear a mullet <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

I think trashy people (whether they are green purple, orange, blue, gay, straight) are all worth trashing. But hey, all in the name of "entertainment".

Aggressive women = good
Women with Mullets = sad

Michelle....where is the homophobia??? In looking at the average Mullet-wearing female, we must conclude that her fashion/style sense is a bit off.

Did you all hear what I said.....a women has her fashion/style sense a bit off!! What possible things could attribute to that happening other than a blunt blow to the head or the fact that she is gay????

Just joking.....but you can see where we're coming from, no?

Look Michelle, I went back and read all of the posts. I saw one, maybe two posts regarding "alternative" lifestyles and your stated homophobia concerns. If you are queer (yes, I can use that term) and uncomfortable with it, that is your problem. Don't rag it on all of us. Lighten up. Jeez.

I used to use mullet as bait for fishing when I lived in Florida. Does that count?

Frankly I don't think your going to get to far rebuking anybody here for being homophobic. If a behavior is alien it is going to freak some people out. Personally I am not homophobic and fear people who are prejudiced against others based on their looks or sexual orientation. However, having attended and graduated from art school and lived in Atlanta (one of the largest gay/lesbian populations in the US) I can see how people can be put off. Having men whistle or cat-call at you while your walking down the street gets old quick. I guess now I know how women feel.

I also don't understand the (gross generalization) butch dyke culture where many of them seem to act like they despise men and "male attitudes" yet behave in much the same fashion. There is nothing wrong with being an aggressive female, just don't be a hypocrite.

Michelle, there is no "homophobia" here, trust me.

If you want us to tame down our act so you feel better, we can. But then you really are defeating that quote that is in your signature, aren't you?

I deal with attorneys everyday in my job. Your reaction is typical of a personal injury specialist that likes to sensationalise the situation for the sake of scaring the "big, bad, large corporation" into a fast and large settlement.

Defense attorney? Really?

Tifo

PS: Hint----this is all in good fun, so don't take this personally, as well.

It makes great logic if you take a moment to think about it. A defense attorney might subconsciously want to defend the indefensible.

For what its worth, the mullet thread was NOT started because of any homophobia. Sheer incredulity, maybe, but not homophobia. And I probably should have thought better than to say anything, but oh well...

I would be the last person to cast stones at anyone for following their own path (one look at me and you'd probably know why!) but for the life of me, I can't believe some of the folks I encountered over the weekend could possibly be thinking "damn! I look good!" More power to them if they are happy.

Regards,
