Post passenger window

This is really bad. I get in my car this morning and start driving. Its hot but not to hot so I forgoe the AC and open all the windows and take off the sunroof. Well to make a long story short when I get home I hear there will be a thunderstorm later in the day so I close the windows but the passenger window wont go up. I took of the door panel and verified that the motor worked because when i press the down button i see the gears try to move back, but when I press the up button nothin happens. So being the Einstein that I am I take apart the switch and all six wires, So here I sit with a window that wont go up and six different color wires and no clue where they are supposed to go.

PLease help me!!! I have no clue what to do!

Thanks Christian

You may be able to take apart the drivers side switch and look at those.

Does anyone know what type of lube Porsche used in the window mechanism?

My passenger window goes up a little slower than the drivers, I'm thinking that the mechanism may need a lube job. I'm a little apprehensive of using just anything, my buddy used some grease to lube the sunroof track on his '79 911 and messed it up pretty good.

On the slowness I've usually heard it's just old wiring or corroded connecters.

The motor itself is just a 12volt motor. If you hook a car battery up to it directly you should see if it's your wiring/connectors or the motor itself.

My passenger side is slower then my drivers side window.

Take BOTH the driver's and passanger side switches apart and clean the contacts well. It is important to clean both b/c the way the circuitry is, dirty contacts on the driver's side can cause a problem with the passanger side window going up. Good Luck.!
