AMAF,
Find your A$$ -- you'll need both hands, spread your cheeks... Depice... kick away!

Oh the humanity! To think you may actually reproduce some day. Please volunteer for a vasectomy NOW! Wait... the way you drive... it won't be long now!

A Geo Metro is too good for you -- how 'bout a go-ped! or better yet, a Yugo!

AMAF's 996 Board Post"

Think we should enlighten them? It's kind of twisted watching them take him seriously...

nah, caveat postor.

A few of years ago a very wise piece of information was given to me. Take this to heart and driving will never be the same again. It is immaterial where you drive or how the other road users behave... here it is.

---------------------------
An inconsiderate action taken by another road user is NOT a personal attack.
---------------------------

In other words, they see a car. They do not know you (If they do know you, take it up with them when you next see them - not while driving). They did not set out on their journey specifically to upset you. It does not matter what you think of them or what they think of you - you will probably never even see them again, let alone meet them.

If you believe a driver is inept, chasing them will only make them go faster. If they are truly incompetent, pushing them is a recipe for disaster.

Don't take it personally - the stakes are too high and the Jackpot is nonexistant.

I think we are giving Amaf exactly what he wants... Attention...

Let's at least help him with any of his porsche related problems, and we'll just ignore his imaginary war stories.

first off [quote] Z-Man: Move to Virginia. I can name at least a half dozen people that I know who have received tickets for less than 5 miles an hour over the speed limit, and I can assure you, these were not done recklessly. Some states are different. When I travel on down to TN, I can fly like the devil and not worry about the cops. When I'm in PA, the cops don't bother me at anything under 15 over. When I'm in VA, well, it sucks.

AMEN to that again. va is a bitch, i cant stand how uptight, road trip ina 4 door pasat and what my friend get a ticket for? 4 over while changing lanes. no joke. cops in VA need to relax a little.

second. this seems to be turning into a battle. one side saying relax old foggies, little street racing isnt that bad and the other side saying you kids need to slow down. now i know even you track lovers cant tell me you havent been aggresive in your 6 cyl boxter engine putting out 300hp. our cars are not meant to be drivin slow. yes we force them to less we are on the track but everyonce and a while it happens. with some understanding of how your car works (mainly coming from going fast on track days) you can keep your car relitivly safe, long as your not breaking 130 in a 45. dont be stupid just have some fun and enjoy the car for what its meant for. and to the guy who said that he doesnt race just "sprited driving" or what ever it was. thats bull**** and you know it. you take on those ricers with speed in your mind. you cant beat them without putting the pedal down. down yell at others who do it 2. i think we all need to just lighten up and let everyone make thier own mistakes. no one does the speed limit dead on xept for your grandma.

On the road, there is no "their own mistakes." Smoking crack in your livingroom on a friday night is making your own mistake. What you do on the road almost always affects other people.

Speed has little to do with it sometimes. I've seen really dumb things done at 20MPH, and I've seen reasonable people on the freeway doing 100 safely. With a confrontational attitude that Mr. amaf seems to have, I would guess that he's unsafe at any speed.

Actually young fella, I can assure you, in all honesty, that it is absolutely not bull****. I neither challenge nor accept the challenges of the "ricers" as you put it. At 36 years old I really don't feel like I have anything to prove. Hell, at 21 years old I didn't really think I had much to prove.

When I do drive in a "spirited" fashion it is on back roads that I know very well, and that are relatively free of other vehicles, cars, motorcycles or bicycles, at the time. I didn't buy my car to race it on the street. I bought my car because it is fun to drive at any speed. Porsche didn't design these cars so that they have to be driven at excessive speeds, they built them so that if they are driven fast they can do so with aplomb.

Call me an old fart, or worse, but I really don't get the point of having to live in the left hand lane. I do exceed the speed limit, but if someone else wants by me, fine. And if someone revs me at a light, well more power to 'em, but I am not going to race them.

Drive in a way that is appropriate and safe for the road you are on. There is no need for someone to drive 45 miles and hour down the 25mph street I live on, or run the stop sign at the corner.

You know what it is, maybe I'm cheap. Maybe I don't want to have to pay a ticket. Maybe I don't want to have to take time off from work to fight a ticket. Maybe I don't want to pay for the tires I burned up, or the parts I wore out street racing, or worse the wrecked car. Or maybe I don't want to have to call my fiance and tell her I am in the hospital again (long story, not involving cars).

Yeah, track days will be fine.

Old Fart at 36 ????

Now that I can see with my new bifocals at 41 I guess I'd better start looking at caskets not 968s. Gee thanks.

Hey Paul,

You have to consider the audience.

Besides, I wasn't admitting I am an old fart at 36, I was supposing that little Jimmy might think of me as one.

But at least I haven't hit 40 yet

Having just turned 28, I hardly consider myself an "old foggie"... I think our attacks on AMAF have little to do with breaking posted speed limits and obeying traffic laws. If you have a license, you have broken traffic laws.

I think the issue here is being in control of ones judgement. AMAF has no control and poor judgement. What makes him even more dangerous is that he is convinced otherwise. Add to that a double shot of the teenage invinsibility factor and one must conclude that, without luck mixed in, AMAF will most likely be in jail for vehicular manslaughter or dead within 5 years.

You can never control 100% of a situation when you risk driving on the edge. You could have everything else in place, then a tire goes and a passerby finds you upside down in the field with no vitals. I sometimes take that risk, but with good judgement and only when the risk is mine alone. Somebody else in the car, its no go... unless they have sincerely chosen to take the risk with me. Where I live, there are many great roads, but only one I will drive on the edge... and I choose not to in the summertime because of overgrowth. But in late fall through early spring... what a ride... no blind corners... freshly paved only two years ago. I can easily see an approaching car before I enter any corner. If one exists I slow to speed limit until they are safely past.

Good judgement, and sensible control... something that AMAF has not. For this reason I posted my message.

For those who missed it, it was simply a quote...

"If a child shows himself to be incorrigible, he should be decently and quietly beheaded at the age of twelve, lest he grow to maturity marry, and perpetuate his kind."
Don Marquis (1878 - 1937)

Thumbs up

Paul,

It might be fun to be buried in a 968, just not alive!

Has anyone ever met this guy? No wonder our NJ insurance rates are so high with people behaving like this on the roads.
