I noticed that I have a small brake fluid leak from somewhere around the master cylinder or reservoir. It appears as though it may be coming from where the m/c is bolted up to the vacuum booster. Is this a likely area, and if so, am I looking at a m/c rebuild?

There is a weep hole on the MC. Usually left side by the cyl mounting nut. Tiny hole about 1/16". Seal bad will show brake fluid driping down booster and melting paint. I suggest getting a rebuilt or new. I rebuilt mine but was lucky the internal cylinder was not pitted.
This is a good time to flush fluid on all corners and clutch.

I haven't seen anything exactly at the mounting nuts, but there has been some amount of residue on the mc itself, possibly from the seals between the reservoir and the mc. I will probably try replacing those seals and flushing all fluid first. If that doesn't work, it's not very much money used.
