At 22 years and 143,400 miles my driver's side mirror glass fell off and shattered as I was pulling away from a red light on the way home from work. Go figure - didn't look like the best glue job behind it
You don't realize how badly you need that mirror until you don't have it... Of course today was the day when lots of other aggressive folks were in traffic.
Anyone have a complete replacement assembly or a whole mirror for sale? If so how much shipped to 30071?

Bummer!
My driver's side mirror glass fell off a few months after getting the car almost eight years ago... Fell on the pavement in a parking lot. It stayed intact and was easily glued back in place.

I got a mirror for $14 from autozone.
A few weeks ago my driver side fell off (~1200 miles after the pass side came off) but I somehow swatted it into the car without breaking it (my hand was near the mirror when it happened) at ~45 mph.
Anyone ever notice how you can see thru the glass? Why is that?

Been there, done that. Mine was when I closed the door - mirror glass popped out and dropped to the pavement. It was a lot louder than I thought it'd be! I have glass, unfortunately, the difference between early and late means that it won't work for you. :/

I lost mine on the front straight at the Putnam Park club race last year. It started wiggling then poof, It was gone. The race track is a bad place to lose a mirror. I ran out to Autozone and found one of those convex mirrors and glued it on. I think I actually prefer it over the standard mirror - no blind spots.

Apparently this mirror issue is pretty widespread! Hmm - well for the meantime I stole the mirror off my NA that is up for sale.
Thanks for the heads up about early being different that late - I'll keep that in mind on the search.
Ironically the only spare I have is for the right side with the "objects closer" wording...

See if you can get a mirror glass from an auto parts store trimmed to the right size (or if you're lucky enough to catch it when it falls off!) I used some Scotch outdoor double sided tape to replace the glass in the old assembly.
