ah then it sounds like you just outgrew your 944

I myself would still try to keep the 944 though, get a pickup truck or an SUV that is relatively new and possibly has warrenty (if its "new" enough)

you can find STi's for a good price, my buddy is selling his for under $16k and I think its an '04 well kept with 80k miles; never moded, never tracked; but at that point, I dont know how they are maintenance wise - so watch out for that

for comparison (craiglist): there were 3 E36 M3's selling locally, over the year, 1 of them lowered their price over the course of 3 months and then dissappeared - so I assume it sold; the 2nd car lowered its price for 6 months and dissappeared - probably got sold too; the 3rd car would appear and dissappear, it finally sold for under $7k and they all started at around $10-13k; then there is another E36 that has been for sale for a while, but it looks really nice and is said to be owned by a mechanic, nicely done with good mod list, and the guy hasn't lowered his price yet, and is just holding out for the right buyer

not saying you should hold the car for a year, consider lowering the price a tad if people are showing up to look at and not buying; but if no one is even looking, then consider lowering the price a bit

i think you should fix the small rust problems and the front end damage and you will easily sell the car.

based on your poll statements, i chose the "I would personally be interested if it looked nice" due to the fact that it would attract buyers who aren't into 944's as we are. there are more people out there who see a shiny and clean car as a prospect to buy as opposed to some people who buy cars themselves to fix and make shiny.

despite the market being low and slow, more people will buy a shiny and clean car over a unsorted car and "need TLC" car. there are great deals out there on cars, and this is one of them. im surprised it has not sold yet. i would love this car soooo bad but im already in a relationship (see signature) lol. just my opinion of coarse.

and jay, that is a great reason to sell that car. 5-10 miles of beach, leash-less dogs, and partying all the time????? it sounds like so much fun and relaxing. i wish i can have that up here LOL
