Unhappy 86 944 turbo wheel problem!

I have an 86 944 turbo (early offset 23.3mm), purchased a set of wheels from a 1978 911SC, for DE use. Wheels size front 6Jx16 rear 7Jx16 wheel number 911361020 with a square stamping on the end of number 43, there is also a stamping of AS10.62 and FCO. The wheel rubs on the caliper on the front, so I assume I need spacers, what size?
Thank you all for your response.

Question

I *think* that spacers won't fix this problem. The wheel may not have enough clearance vertically, instead of the horizontal clearance that the spacers would offer. I remember someone mentioning that the 951's had their own part#'s for the front wheels for the brake clearance....

I also remember someone saying something about grinding a bit out of the inside of the wheel, but hopefully this can be expounded on by a true expert here....

The wheel seems to be scraping around the edge of the transition from vertial to horizontal. The will turn but only a slight rubbing noise if it were moved out just 3/8 of an inch it would be fine.

Cool

Sounds like you can get away with a spacer then. Might need longer studs for 3/8 inch, tho..

Yeah, this is the problem with using 911 wheels on the 951. Diameter-wise, they clear the calipers. But laterally, the spokes will rub. I think a 7-8mm spacer will take care of it? Do a test fit using large washers to see how many you have to stack to get the desired clearance. Give yourself at least 2mm clearance between the spokes & the caliper. Then take off the stack of washers and measure their thickness. Get a spacer that's equivalent. You also want to make sure that you have at least 9-turns of the lug-nuts as well. If not, you'll need longer studs.
