Post Please help me identify this turbo!

It came off an '86 944 Turbo race car. It has a bigger inlet and outlet than a k26. It holds the part numbers: 86 935 2074 and 5326 970 6720. Thanks!

If it is indeed a 26/8 (turbo S turbo), then the intake side should be the same size, but the hot side (exhaust side) should be larger.

if it's a k26/8 then there would be a # "8" stamped inside the hot housing and there should also be a tag on the compressor housing. where did you read the part # from?

If I'mnot mistaken, it's a k27 hybrid from a 935 (911 Turbo S) with a "8" hot housing.

Does it have a water-jacket in it too? If so - it's definately a hybrid.

HTH!

why would a 911 need a water jacket?
