Is installing them a simple strait forward type thing or is there any special procedures/fabrication-modification's prior to installation?

u'll need to go rent a spring compressor if u don't have one. a tie rod puller too
u'll also need a impact gun.
i think for coilover install, u might also wanna cut off the stock lower spring mount.

are there top hats with the kit?
Might want to trim the stock spring perch if you aren't planning going back to the stock springs....

I did a few sets recently, Had to make my own top hats out of billet....

You don't need an impact gun if you buy an offset angled boxwrench that fits the top strut nut. I can't remember the size of the nut (19mm or 21mm?) but the wrench is fairly easy to find and is about $20 or so at Sears.

I use an impact, but IIRC, a 22mm O2 sensor socket works if do it by hand.

I went down that route (tried the offset box). If you have OEM upper strut bearings, the nut is way recessed in a cup and most angled offsets are not going to be steep and deep enough to make it.
I ended up borrowing an impact wrench (it cranks hard enough and fast enough to twist the top nut off).

I did take the other side off with the impact, because its just way easier.

To get the strut nut off without just spinning the strut shaft, you need the open top (box) wrench AND a hex wrench so you can hold the strut shaft and turn the nut.

I've done this several times using the offset box wrench and a hex wrench (that was implied, sorry if I didn't specify) and had no issues with the OEM upper strut bearings.
I guess YMMV applies here.

Ive done coils a few times, i was just curious after doing a search if there were any little idiosyncrasies to doing them on Pcars. I read something about cutting spring perches, saying 5 hail Marry's, and a couple other things Ive never had to do before. These coils do have the caps. Theyre only single spring typed coils though, and not very tall
I plan to do the install at the auto hobby shop on base and I'll use their tools instead of putting hours on my impact gun, or buying any new tools. can someone show me what i might possibly need to cut, or will it be pretty obvious
