Post can i use 16x8 on the front wheels?

i searched the archives and it looks like i can, but i just want to verify that 16x8 rims will fit inside the fenders of my 87 944. these are stock 968 wheels with the 52mm offset.

i would be using 225/50 tires.

I run that size on my S2 (16 x 8 all around) for track rubber w/ 245's. No rubbing.

As Riff already confirmed, yes. A friend runs (et 52) 8x16" 225/50 in front on his late model turbo and it works fine.

for those that do use that size, do you ever experience any tire rubbing, and what shocks/spring rates do you use? i have stock springs with sachs shocks for now

I've been told by the track chair (who runs a 944S2) that 8Jx16's with 245/45 rubber will fit. But there is a possibility that you'll have to roll the inside of the fenders to prevent rubbing: as stated above, it depends on your suspension setup.

I have run 245/45-16 on an 8X16 in the past and had no problems.
