Pegged my S2's temp gauge during the Gingerman Club Race... Any ideas?

Remove it and do the pan of water over the stove trick to see when it opens. If it seems to be fine you can put the hosed back on and run it with out the t-stat. If it still over heats then it is the waterpump. If it is fine then its probably the t-stat. Install a new one.
