Kind of hard to do when the factory wires are wrapped with the rest of the wiring harness.

The cheap Chinese wire that comes with aftermarket speakers will not last anywhere near 20 years. I've seen them fail in <5 years (insulation deterioration/failure).

I couldn't for the life of me find duplicolor... Good news is that I found a Sherwin Williams automotive trim store (?) nearby and it has things specifically for the interior and exterior of cars, including a section of vinyl spraypaint

I dont do cheap ones that last less then 5 years. If your going to replace them go with the good stuff. Crutchfield has good stuff. and i use 18ga for Hi/mid

i havent replaced mine but its worked on other cars mine will be replaced within the next 2 months

Haha.....this car has about 8 tons of speaker wire in it. I swear there is a GIANT pile of speaker wire behind every panel. It will get upgraded appropriately when the time comes. The stereo that is sitting in it now is a left over from another project. Eventually it will have something nicer.

The irony is that it is a Momo wheel and would be really cool in the right car. Just does not match the 951 very well. I am still undecided what exactly to do with it. Trying to work on a little bit of a budget here and not run out and buy a $250 wheel. Hoping to find a nice used black Momo to replace it with.

What is also kinda funny is that I have a nice black Grant wheel in my resto mod 1 ton crew cab which would look nice in the 951 and the wood would look okay in the truck. But two totally non-compatable platforms.

That would be great!! The rear center section of my carpet is black now. The rest is tan(and torn so not work trying to salvage).

Ha, your not going to believe the dream I had last night. For some reason I was sitting in your car, and I went to see how smooth your center console was, and the paint just smeared off.

But by the looks of it, I don't think that'll happen.

I abused the paint a little last night under the console area with no ill results.

If I have time to night I will shoot a quick video of the testing and see how it goes.

Will it hold up for the rest of the carpet? I need black carpet, but its gonna be a while before that is the priority for my extra $$.

I did the bottom half of my dash with that stuff. If you prep it well and mask everything off it'll work great. Seems to hold up pretty well to scuffs as well.
