What color are the valve cover and intake mani...
on the 968 cars? The 944 is pretty much an aluminum silver, the 951 has the silver valve cam housing and a gray intake manifold, but the 968 is more of a white gold if that makes any sense. Has anyone tried to match the color? Thanks!

Mine is wearing off a bit, so that makes me think it's powdercoated rather than anodized. The color is kind of like a light gold and the darker bare AL is clearly visible below it. I'll run out and snap a couple of pics and post.

Powder coating is pretty much the same as paint, but it just a dry powder that is electrostatically applied and baked on at temp. or with infrared light. The paint is applied via a solvent solution. They can both wear off, but as you said, the powder coating tends to be more durable.
Many industrial parts are powder coated since it takes much less time for the coating to cure (flash off the solvents) and there is no evaporation of harmful solvents into the working environment.
