Yes indeed!! We definitely should try to get together sometime... maybe next week someday around lunchtime, or even after work?

Alpine 951,

I bought the car last fall from Bournevall (I dont know how to spell it) in New Hampshire. I saw the add for it in the Globe and then bought it that day. It was the cheapest 951 I had ever seen advertised at $5000. It has 126000 miles and is maroon with a beige interior. It runs great and has no oil leaks, but is ugly. It needs paint and some bodywork (there are a few fist sized dents), the dash is VERY cracked, and the headliner is falling off. It came with no maintenance records, so I need to do the timing belt and water pump as soon as possible. Also I heard that vibrations at low RPMs could be caused by motor mounts, so I was planning on having those done too. Since I dont want to spend big money at a dealership having the work done, I figured you guys would know the best places to go. I plan on putting the car on the road in Ocotber for the first time.

Try Exotech in southern NH (maybe Plaistow) just over the line from Haverhill, MA. The guy's name is Mark Nadler. He works in a small one-man shop, but is good. He is a little tough to deal with, but is a good guy.

In the upstairs of his shop is a parts guy who has good prices on most things. He does a lot of mailorder. 800-682-2443. His name is Scott. You might have to leave a message as he is also a small operation, but it keeps the prices low. He sells all parts for german stuff.

Thanks for the responses everyone, one more question. Have any of you had a 944 repainted in Mass? I also need paint soon. I intend to do all the prep work myself but I need a good painter in this area.

Mark is the real deal, he knows these cars thoroughly and is someone you can trust. Take his wryness with a grain of salt, underneath is a very good person with a real sense of humor. It is said you can tell a person by his friends, and his friends are second to none.
