Are you guys serious the April issue is out on the stands now!?!? I have a subscription and I only just got February about two weeks ago. I knew bulk rate mail was slow to get overseas but I didn't think it was that slow.

They recently had an article in Excellence regarding this weird phenomena and its got to do with where they print, 3rd party distributors, etc which I can appreciate.

And yes, if you really must know...Karl and I know the editors of Excellence, and I'm sure they don't appreciate having their publication distributed for FREE so people like you can pinch that penny for all it's worth!

Way to go supporting your fellow Rennlister and the publication that caters to our watercooled Porsches the most!

Agreed but its a combination of copyright and also time. That list alone took me more that 3 days to put together (though I did enjot reading all the articles!). In time, I will add more comments on each article so people will have a sense of what it contains.

That way, folks would know whether the article would justify ordering the back issue.

What's the difference between going to Chapters or B&N, reading the article without buying the mag, or simply scanning it and reading it online, without buying the mag?

The difference is, how you read it. Either way, you're not buying the magazine.

If someone scanned the article, and I liked it, I would go out and buy the mag, so I can reference it in the future. I don't always buy Excellence or 911&P-world or GT because simply sometimes it's not worth the $10 to me.

The only issue with scanning it is copyrigh infringment. There is no moral issue of pinching pennies or screwing over a waterpumper catering magazine.

Scanning and uploading it isn't going to prevent anyone from Buying it. At best it's great advertisment.

I would really love to buy the magazine every now and then, but for some reason not one book store in here carries that... some have 911&Pworld, some have GT, but nobody has Excellence.

Having said that, if anybody has a scan of 11/2002, #115-P143, “Short Stop” - Installing 928S4 brakes on a 944S, here's a very good chance to make one Finn very happy

And about the brakes, I think that Olli will have a 951 front brakes for sale. Unless you HAVE TO HAVE S4 brakes <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Cool

Well I haven't got mine in Calif. yet but be sure I will be tackleing the mail box first thing when I get home!

For me, the price of the subscription is a small price to pay for such a high quality magazine crammed with information/articles/interviews/history of our favorite auto manufacure, not to mention the vendor ads!

fifteen minutes to quiten time

the scary thing is.. I dont have a magazine outlet locally that carries it. B&N wont sell it online..and neither does the publisher. im not advocating anyone should betray rights.. but it might be nice to see. perhaps in my travels i'll find it- otherwise another PO'd potential customer.

I'm not very pleased w/ the article OR the market report despite the prices being high.

Compare similar repairs of a 951 to a 930 or a 911 and you will see that the price of repairs are not out of line for the 44 turbo. I can't believe Bruce is putting the fact that the purchase price of the car being low, against it. It's not even like the 944 is any less reliable than other Porsches.

I assume the values will keep going up as the # of cars on the road decreases, and potential buyers seem to be on the rise.

And the article on the 944 turbo engine, they didn't get into many specifics. It's more that it was sleeved, and made 540hp to the wheels, ditto very dissapointed in this article as well.

I've subscribed to excellence for a while, and will continue to do so but it seems like they're slipping if you think about the article on the cayenne where all they did was talk about how great it was without much in-dept info. Only if I could subscribe to 911&Porsche world (with that name you'd expect that magazine to be much more 911 oriented but the reverse seems to hold true).
