DME Relay... controlls the computer and the fuel pump... 2 circuits in 1 relay, does the tach "bounce" when cranking the ignition? Try DME relay swap and report back... if you do a search there is a jumper procedure on here that will tell you if it is the relay or not...

If its been sitting for 8 years, I bet you have some nasty stuff in that tank and fuel pump.

Have you given it a good smack? That might get it going. But if I were you, I'd be draining the tank, changing the fuel filter and the drain back valve, and putting in some fresh fuel. You can jumper the relay to make the fuel pump run, but I don't remember how to do so off the top of my head on an early. I'm sure someone can chime in on that for you.

Maybe your pump is dead, ya might try this... Disconnect a fuel line and then ...

In My car the fuse box was at fault, you could move the relay and once in a while the car would run and then move the relay and it would turn off and that was with a new DME I could not even use jumpers it would only work intermittently. Just a thought, hope it is not your problem.

8 years? I had a car sit for 6 years. Took it a good long convincing to get the fuel pump running again. Jump the fuel power like F18 said and then listen for a whine from the back of the car.

If there is a whine, then the fuel pump is running and you should get fuel coming out of the fuel rail. If there is a whine and no fuel, then youve got a clog.

My car sat for ~7 yrs, what I had to do is disconnect each injector connector and hot-wire them, with the fuel pump off. Make/break the connection as long as it takes until they start clicking loudly. Then repeat with the fuel pump hot-wired on (but not too much because it will be dumping gas into the cylinders). It started immediately after all that.

Also helps to circulate fuel (engine off) with the pump hot-wired, new filter, and plenty of Techron fuel system cleaner added to maybe 3 - 4 gallons. While doing that I applied vacuum to the FPR to exercise it.

My car ceased to start up two weeks ago, it was a broken wire to the DME relay. They traced the wire, found it broken, replaced it and the car started up just fine!
