Also, find a 951 that has evey mod you want and you know every bolt is as tight as YOU want it for the same price. I am a builder, driver, enthusiast etc...I love wrenching on my can when it's going foreward, and not just fixing stuff. I know what has been done and have taken care of things that bug me on the stock 951. I like to build my own cars rather than buy or pay someone to do it. Nothing wrong with it,it's just my style. I'm not on rant, don't take it wrong, I just really like to be the one working on my car. I trust me, and if anything happens, I'm to blame. I am a car nut, no, I'm a car freak! And I love it

Seems to me you could make a turbo out of an NA without even pulling the motor, by replacing all the parts with 951 parts -- DME, head, headers, cross over, wastegate, cycling valve, turbo, pistons, rods, exhaust, motor mount, b/s housing, oil pan, intake manifold, injectors, fuel pump, radiator, resevoir, turbo water pump, oil cooler, etc. If you found a blown-up but complete 951, I bet you could do this all for cheap with lots of elbow grease. (You could even get the brakes, sway bars, boost gauge, harness, etc., from the 951 that way.) Tons of effort to replicate a $9k car, but it would be hell of a sleeper in 944n/a trim. The intercooler may be a challenge since the factory mount location is not available. Maybe a SFR unti would work in front of the radiator. Tranny and clutch might not last that long though.

Tom I agree, it has been done... I might do it some day....

Not right now... but some day.... actually .. I would rather see that 951 sleeper approach in a 924 converted to Carrera GT trim on the out side.
