Guys and gals,
Yesterday the site was down for a few hours, and today it's been down all day. I went looking for why, found my hosting company's (the folks I lease my server from) website is down as well, but their support site is up. This is what I pulled from it.

The Dallas CDC-01 network has suffered from 3 DDoS (distributed denial of services attacks) in the last 24 hours. The FBI has been contacted and they are actively seeking the offending attacker(s). Additionally, all of our upstream providers are blocking the offending IP addresses and are capturing log information and have sent those to the FBI for prosecution. We apologize for ANY AND ALL inconveniences this may have caused you. We are working around the clock to stop, catch, and prosecute the offending attacker(s). We sincerely appreciate your patience in this matter.

Sorry for posting this here, but I have no other way to contact any of you.
Thanks!

You know what they say, "Sh*t Happens". It's not your fault, so don't worry about it. While I love to play with and enjoy my cars, it's nothing my life revolves around. Hope they find the clowns and toss them in the pokey.

most providers have an uptime guarantee, if you complain they will probably give you the month free or something.
dalnet irc has been getting DDoS attacks for a week now, maybe your provider ran a server on their line?

CI Host sucks! I used them to host my last company's 6 web sites for over a year. They have been indicted for fraudulent business practices and lost 1 major case already. The idea is that they sign up as many customers as possible and lie about their infrastructure, security, and capabilites. When I found all of this out, we cancelled our hosting with them. The fact that they are still in business is frightening. <img border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" title="" src="graemlins/cussing.gif" />
