Oh yeah...good luck as-well!

I ran into a small problem today. I could not get my jack to go underneath the 951. This might be a dumb question, but is it because i have adjusted koni shocks? Has anyone else ran into this problem before? My jack always worked fine with all my 911's. I truly do not want to use the stock jack. Any input would be appreciated.

Were you using less than 91 in a turbo?

Are you not using jack stands?

If the answer to either of my questions was yes, sell the car ASAP and buy a honda with a warranty.

Not sure if you trying to insult me or what. Of course i am using jack stands. My problem is getting the darn car jacked up! I have a blown HG, its not like i can drive the car on a ramp or a stack of wood. Of course i was using 91 octane.

again, thanks for the helpful input.

If you can't jack it up off the factory point at the sides (marked with the little diamond in the middle of the rocker) or off the frame rail, then you could jack it up with the jack centered under the crossmember with a 2x4 piece between the jack and the x-member (which is aluminum).

Btw, adjustable koni's don't change the ride height. They are only adjustable with regard to rebound stiffness.

If your jack isn't short enough to make it under the car, make the car taller (i.e. drive it up on a couple of pieces of 2x6). You may smack yourself in the forehead now

Yeah, i'll try not to smack myself silly with the 2x4's. Actually after i typed the question i noticed clark garage had the same recommendation, besides using a hockey puck on the lift.

I wanted to express a BIG thanks to Ben (87944turbo).
Ben came over Friday to help me tear into my Porsche. I can definitely say i learned allot from him yesterday. Last night, I purchased the wide fire gasket kit and next week i plan to take the head to be flat sanded.

PS i have taken many photo's from the work done on the Porsche from Thursday and Friday. I plan to post the photo's for others soon!

Good luck man. It's not too difficult.

It's only kinky the first time.

On Friday, July 31st 2009. My car is finally back in operation. After few heart breaking tries, i believe this car is fixed besides a few re tightening of nuts on the headers and installing the lower plastic chassis air-o pcs.

I want to say a big thanks for Ben "87944turbo" help and support while working on this car.

I drove her for about 30 miles in the last two days. No white smoke or any smoke....just running GOOD!

I truly enjoyed the work, but at times it was really frustrating for me! I look forward to many happy miles and maybe a few new add on's such as wheels and strut bar.

I quickly washed and waxed her today with my two young boys!

Thanks everyone who encouraged me and provided help with attachments and ideas of gasket kits to purchase!

Glad to hear it. My S2 is almost back running, but I'm stuck after breaking a valve cover bolt. How long did it take for the engine to build oil pressure the first time?

Truthfully i don't remember how long it took the oil, but the fuel pressure took several cranks. My battery almost went dead for the 2nd time. 1st tear down on my car the battery went dead due to a wire swap on the distributor besides the battery possibly needing replaced.

I hope you get your car gets fixed soon Karl. I was lucky to have Ben around to support the removal of the head and cam tower.

Thanks, I hope I do too. =) You didn't have to prime the oil pump to get pressure did you? Did you replace the oil cooler seals while you were in there?

you wouldn't have had to. but if you had replaced the oil cooler seals and had to prime the oil pump it may have explained why my car isn't building pressure.
