Rear muffler heat shield
My 88' 944S does not have rear muffler heat shield that goes between gas tank and rear muffler. PO or somebody removed it.
I use the car for track days and muffler gets pretty hot so I want to install the heat shield.
If you look the picture you can see 87' 924S heat shield in the left and some kind of early heat shield on the right.
Both fit nicely to my 87' 924S. Shield on the left has two holes towards the front of the car that fit the bracket (88' 944S) that is under the gas tank, but those legs go against the beam that holds the transmission. I think that I could cut those legs off if needed.
I have not seen late heat shield installed on late 944. Does it look like the shield on the left or not?
How it is bolted to the car?
