I would rather have seen him HIT the Type-Rusted and have left that fine piece of German engineering alone.

Don't be a moron. Making generalizations like these is downright stupid. Even moreso when you're WRONG.

When I saw that posted on another discussion
board, it was stated that the MR2 driver was
attempting a hand brake 180. He didn't quite
get full 180 degrees rotation.

G96- I lived in Florida, and saw many more acts of disregard for human safety by drivers racing in Cali. I have seen many stupid senseless accidents taking unwitting bystanders and other drivers LIVES by morons racing on public streets. I was simply making a comment on the neighborhood's appearance. The problem is nationwide.
edit:
As I was typing this an Atlanta rennlister chimes in. http://forums.rennlist.com/forums/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=15;t=016348

My opinion is based upon the things I have seen in my life.

stupid is as stupid does.

Jetta over Type R? I think not. I'm pro German on most cars as compared to Japan but that made in Mexico product is a joke.

Where a car is assembled makes a big difference. If my Porsche said Made in Mexico, I'm sorry, it'd be different for me. Made in West Germany. Now that's nice. Gives a little history lesson also. Nothing against Mexico but those Jetta's have many problems many of them related to quality control. Same goes for Honda. The S2000, Prelude, Integra Type R, 3.5RL, and others are made in Japan. Compared to some of their American made Honda counterparts they have better assembly. American's don't assemble products as good as the Japanese. Same can be said when comparing German made vehicles with Mexico.

It is a very capable car and could smoke a n/a 944 on a track.

If you would rather have a diesel Jetta then an Intergra Type R then you really aren't much of a sports car fanatic. Maybe it's the Porsche blinders...

I havent posted in a few weeks (I know you missed me). Good to be back.

That video is absolutely hilarious.

I also agree with Michael that these HS pukes with their part time job at Home Depot give very good cars like a Type-R etc a bad name. When Acura built the Type-R they had no idea immature 17yr olds would get a hold of them and ruin the cars fine reputations as a high-revving seat of the pants blast to drive. Same can be said for MR2 Turbos and on and on.

I can attest to a lot of this ricer testosterone.
In my 951 not a soul bothers me. Guys in Vettes, Cobras, dont give me a fleeting bad look. They know because they respect the heritage of the Porsche in my opinion.

I drive the WRX to and from work though. Other than color keyed side spoilers and some gold OZ rims, the car is absolutely bone stock off the showroom floor. No fart cans, no NOS, no wacked out front eyelids, etc. At least twice a day on my way to work though some tennybopper puke has to tell me hes pulled alongside me by revving his engine. The cars I find doing this the most are GTIs, then Mustangs, then Integras, then Cavelier Z/34s or whetever they are, then Eclipses.

What on earth are they trying to prove to me. I drive my car responsibily and dont race it or rev my engine at an intersection like a prepubescent idiot. Just because I drive a Jap car doesnt mean I had no class on the road. But if someone in a Porsche gives me an ugly look, I cant honestly blame them either. The jerkoffs always trying show me their Fast and the Furious side give guys who drive these same cars responsibly a bad name. Im the sure the guy with the yellow Type R on here can back me up on a lot of this.

Its a shame kids just out of diapers take great cars and ruin it for the rest of us.

I always remind myself too that no matter if Im in the 951 or WRX or if I had a F355, theres always someone on the other block whos got something that can roast me and will invetiably pull up to me and blow my doors off when I get cocky, so why be cocky at all? Theres something to be said for understated confidence in your driving machine. Good drivers driving good cars need not showcase the car with fancy gimmicks and tricks at an intersection or stoplight. Everything speaks for itself, and in the end, thats more than enough that needs to be said.

End of rant!

ya know as I look at the comments on many of the videos on the site against Porsches. Why are they bickering about Porsches being slow when they are taking an economy car and throwing thousands of dollars into it to make it go as fast? I thought we are talking quality of a production car factory stock in performance.

Many ricers out there appear to miss the point that the Porsche was born to go fast. These videos I've seen of Z06s beating 911 turbos could be possibly fixed since professionals of Road&Track, European Car, and many other magazines prove that 996TT's beat ZO6s. As for rice rockets...tuned car vs stock car....hmmm how about tuned Porsche vs. tuned rice? The Porsche would be stupid fast, **** I'm sure the driver wouldn't even waste the gas on that riceboy
