Post Its a flood!!!!!!!!!

Took the new turbo out on its madien out of town trip yesturday. I drove about 175 miles on the highway with out stoping. When I
exited and made a left hand turn I had about a 1/3 gallon of cold water dump out into the passenger floor. I plan on checking the
drain comming out of the firewall but just wanted to ask if this has came up and is there anything else I might check.

this should not happen even if the drain is plugged , check under your battery ,i suspect you have a rust thru hole .Better get it fixed or it will cost you the dme if it a later model.

it seems to me that if the drain was plugged that is exactly what would happen?

just printed out pics from the CD rom manual and it looks like the drain is at the bottom. Why do I hear chat about the battery compartment?

If you were running AC, it's the drain from the AC system. Water collects under the condenser and spills when you make a turn (right turns soak your feet!)

The solution is to pull out the radio and cubby below. Behind it, you will see the bottom of a black container with a short (3") rubber hose coming out of it and heading through the floor.

Pull the hose off the container (this will cause a big flood so have paper towels handy.)

Then (Thanks to Billybones for this solution) use an E string from a guitar to ream out this hose. Guitar strings are nice because they have a ball on the end so the string itself will not catch on the rubber hose. Hope that helps!
