Post Loctite###?????
My mind is drawing a blank..what is the loctite #3 for the sealer to use on the oil pump and the balance shft covers...tank you in advance

That would be "Elephant Snot" - or Loctite 574.

Supposedly Loctite 618 is an ok replacement.

Before putting my motor together I contacted Loctite and this was their response:

Loctite 518 is very similar to 574, and is more available. 518 would be a
good substitute.


I buy #518 (Red) at NAPA for about $7.00, good luck
