Post cheap fog lamp alternative for 1986 944NA

Anyone know of cheap fog lamp alternatives for 1986 944NA?

They don't have to be exact replicas, just have to fit and make light and be lower cost.

are your stock ones broken? and you need replacements? i'd suggest calling ian's europarts in pompano beach, fla. they can probably get you some used ones. i talk to albert. their website is www.ianseuroparts.com

If your current lights work but are cracked, there are covers you get for about $35. They look nice and provide good protection. Got them from Performance Products I believe. I'm sure others carry them, though.
My foglights are crakced pretty badly and I've had these covers on for about two years now. They still work great.

The OE light is probably the cheapest, the whole light can be found new for less than $100 ea. for the NA cars. I don't think you'd be likely to find anything worth putting in there for less.

Honestly, just take yours apart, and fix 'em. You can get new lenses for under $40 each if you look around, and you probably just need new bulbs. Check the ground too.. Trust me, you will spend more agravation in trying to put aftermarket lights in those spaces.... Not worth the trouble IMO... (btw I've done it before on a cust. car)

There is/was a Rennlister who developed a short run of custom fog-lamp lenses for the 944. He sold a bunch on the list and on Ebay, but I've not seen them in quite a while. The $40 lens price I've not seen. The only advice I can offer is if you do replace with the OE glass, get some appropriate 3M or other vinyl to protect them (not sure of the right formulation/thickness, but it's specific for lights - so they don't melt). Some info may be in the archives here or on the Email lists.

Good Luck!
